Taste the Flavours of Northpark

It’s Saturday morning – your dedicated day of ‘getting stuff done.’ You’ve hit the shops to get all the bits and pieces you need for the week ahead (plus a few fun extras to treat yourself because let’s be honest, you deserve it) and then it hits. That pang of hunger, deep within your belly. The type of hunger that is all-consuming. You apologise to the bank teller and exit the store fast than Usain Bolt, searching for something to silence the hunger. And although you have about 10 minutes before the (h)anger kicks in, there’s a sense of calm within you knowing that you’re at North Park Shopping Centre and the food offerings are some of the best in ‘burbs.

So, what do you choose? Let’s run through your options.

Michel’s Patisserie
You’re hungry and you need food. Stat. A quick stop at the iconic Michel’s Patisserie will do the trick. No shopping centre is complete without a Michel’s and there’s a good reason for that. With pies, pasties, light meals or a full-on plate of food, the popular franchise has all bases covered but if there’s one thing they’re known for, it’s sweet treats. Pick yourself up a cake or macaroon before scooting off to continue your day or order ahead to pick up a full-size cake for any special occasion.

Coco Tea
If you’re looking for something just to tie you over, what better option than bubble tea? The delicious drink is taking the world by storm and if you’re going to indulge, there’s no better than the global brand Coco Tea. With an endless option of flavours and add-ons (think mango, biscoff and earl grey) it serves as the perfect snack as you wander to find your main meal.

Sakura Sushi
Nothing says quick nourishment like sushi. Pre-made and waiting, the little rolls of seaweed-wrapped rice can be eaten with one hand, making them perfect for busy people on the go. Of course, you can sit and enjoy your meal but who’s got time for that?

Nijumaru Japanese Sushi
If you’re liking the thought of Japanese but a few hand rolls just aren’t going to cut, then you’re in luck. North Park’s resident all-you-can-eat just so happens to be one of the most-loved in Adelaide. For $43 you can eat as much Agedashi tofu, katsu chicken and aburi salmon that you can handle in one sitting.

Nandos
Serving up succulent peri-peri chicken, there’s a reason Nando’s is one of the most popular takeaway choices in the country. For some reason, there is only a handful of locations in South Australia and North Park Shopping Centre is one of them so why not make the most of it? With healthy options, crispy chips and the option to choose your own spice level, you’ll never be disappointed with a stop at Nandos.

Café 19
If you need a proper break from your busy schedule, take a seat at Café 19, order yourself a coffee and a quiche and let yourself forget about your to-do list for just a moment. With a selection of café favourites such as burgers and schnitzels as well as a sandwich bar and delicious selection of cakes, you really can’t go wrong with Café 19.

Naan Tandoori
Sometimes you just have a hankering for a hearty, warming meal so if that’s what your body is calling for, head to Naan Tandoori. Offering traditional Indian dishes such as biryani, smaller snacks like samosas and a selection of true favourites including AB’s and kebab, this family-run restaurant has all bases covered to silence the hungry beast rumbling within.

Wok In A Box
Quick, fresh and tasty, Wok In A Box is a satisfying meal without the fuss. Choose from a huge selection of noodle and rice dishes or create your own combination if you’re feeling adventurous. With the dine-in or takeaway options, they also offer value packs meaning you can feed yourself, the kids and the begrudging partner you dragged along to the shops for less.

Brumby’s Bakery
The perfect stop if you need something fast or if you’re after a sweet treat after your main meal, Brumby’s products are all made from 100% Australian wheat and contain no preservatives or additives so you can eat easy knowing no nasties are going into your body. Grab yourself a pizza scroll or baguette to eat on the run and pick up a loaf or two for toast, sandwiches and soups throughout the week and you’re sorted!

You finish your Saturday morning chores with ease with the comfort a full belly provides and after you’ve loaded the car and head towards home, you watch North Park Shopping Centre shrink slowly into the distance through your rearview mirror and already you’re planning what tasty morsel you’ll choose next week when you return to do it all again.
